Gum Care

All know that a clean mouth is a healthy mouth. Fresh breath, clean teeth and healthy gums all promote a beautiful smile. As a rule, bad breath is a sign of poor digestion. That is why cleaning the teeth or using mouth gargles only relieves the problem for the short term. To permanently remove bad breath the eating habits or diet should be supervised. Fasting for a day, and then adopting a light, easily digestible diet can abolish this problem.

Consuming aloe Vera gel, or ginger and lemon juice, helps improve digestion as well. Rinsing the mouth with a decoction of mint, or chewing basil or parsley leaves can improve breath.

Healthy gums are red, usual, compact and hard at the same time as unhealthy gums are spongy, dark red or very pale and may bleed.

Citrus fruits (oranges, grapefruit, lemon, and lime), guavas or pomegranates should be included in the diet to make sure healthy gums as these fruits have large quantities of vitamin C. Massaging the gums on a daily basis with a mixture of salt, black pepper, turmeric and sesame oil is also beneficial.
