Universal Precautions are the precautions, according to which all dental staff, working with patient care either directly or not, has to use all appropriate protective wear, such as eyewear, masks and gloves. The gloves are to be discarded, hands are to be washed after each patient’s visit, and a new pair of gloves is to be used for the next patient. These precautions are called universal, as they are to be used for each and every patient with the aim of any infectious disease prevention.
