Advantages:
One advantage of invisalign is cosmetic is that the aligners are hardly noticed and almost invisible. Therefore they have become particularly popular among adults who want to straighten their teeth without the unattractive look of traditional metal braces, which are usually worn by children and teenagers. Another advantage over traditional braces is that the aligners can easily be taken aloof for eating and brushing your teeth. The treatment typically requires rare visits to an orthodontist. Disadvantages:
In spite of the considerable cosmetic advantage of invisalign, the invention also has many disadvantages. Synthetic aligners used in the treatment are removable and thus, unlike traditional braces, are not constantly correcting your teeth. They are largely dependent on a patients habits and their consistency in wearing the aligners. The aligners must be taken out for eating and this can be bothersome for people who are constantly snacking. Before putting the aligners back in after eating it is recommended that you brush your teeth as well as your aligners. This can be an irritation procedure because a patient could find themselves brushing their teeth up to six times a day (which is not necessarily a bad thing but nonetheless troublesome).
If patient grinds or clenches his teeth during the day or while sleeping the braces can also become damaged. This is not a problem with traditional braces. The aligners are also not very comfortable. The retainers especially (which are required after the regular aligner treatment) are composed of a thick plastic material that takes up quite a bit of space in the mouth. Whether it is more or less comfortable than metal braces is unidentified. For one thing they do not cut the mouth like metal does. Another concern with the material is that it does change a patient’s speech. A lisp is somewhat evident when wearing the aligners. This is largely at the beginning of treatment and subsides a little. The disadvantages of Invisalign braces are often not measured, but frequently the cosmetic advantage is greater than that of these disadvantages Pricing
The price for treatment is often the same or even less than traditional braces. Treatment price is set by the dentist or orthodontist, though the cost of treatment varies a great deal by doctor. Doctor charges are usually defined by complexity and length of treatment. Many treatments run $3500 - $5000, with some treatments are priced as low as $2000. Typical orthodontic insurance may cover $1000-2500 of treatment. Most dentists and orthodontists propose financing plans.
